Welcome to Betable.fun

§

Please read these Terms of Service ("Terms") carefully before using Betable.fun — a peer-to-peer prediction market on the Internet Computer where users own categories (as Afta / XFT labels) and users create markets. Betable is not a sportsbook house that takes the other side of your trades, not a casino, and not a bank or broker. Your access to and use of the Service is conditioned on acceptance of these Terms and our Privacy Policy. You must comply with the laws that apply to you.

1. Acceptance & Changes

§

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Betable.fun, including its websites, apps, canisters, APIs, embeds, and related interfaces (collectively, the "Service"). By accessing, connecting Internet Identity, trading, creating markets or categories, posting content, or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy at /privacy.

• If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

• Betable.fun operators may update these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date will change when we do. Material changes may also be surfaced in-product (for example, a welcome or acceptance prompt). Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

• Additional product rules, market criteria, fee schedules, docs, or on-screen notices may apply to specific features and form part of your agreement when you use those features.

• You represent that you have the legal capacity to enter this agreement and, if acting for an entity, that you are authorized to bind that entity.

2. Nature of the Service

§

Betable.fun is a decentralized prediction-market venue on the Internet Computer (ICP). It is designed so that users can own categories (bound to Afta Cash XFTs / labels) and users can create markets. Trading is peer-to-peer via a central-limit order book (CLOB) and related market mechanics — Betable is not a sportsbook "house" that takes the other side of your bets as principal.

• Categories, markets, orders, shares, and settlement logic are primarily expressed as on-chain canister state and protocol rules. Off-chain mirrors (for example Supabase indexes), articles, oracles, partner resolvers, and peri-style short-interval markets may also exist to improve UX or resolution workflows.

• Settlement currency for live trading is native ICP. Legacy play / MICP practice mode is retired and is not part of the live Service offering.

• Betable does not provide investment, legal, tax, or gambling advice. Nothing on the Service is an offer to buy or sell securities, commodities, or other regulated instruments in any jurisdiction.

• The Service is not a casino, bank, broker-dealer, money transmitter, or custodian of your Internet Identity credentials. Interface branding, education copy, or community features do not change this characterization.

• Features may be experimental, beta, or subject to canister upgrades, network conditions, and third-party protocols (including Afta Cash XFTs). Availability is not guaranteed.

3. Eligibility & Jurisdictional Compliance

§

• You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority where you live, if higher) to use the Service.

• You are solely responsible for determining whether your access to and use of prediction markets, ICP transfers, category ownership, and related activity is lawful where you live, work, or are located.

• You must not use the Service if prediction markets, wagering, or the relevant crypto activity is prohibited for you by applicable law, regulation, sanctions, or court order.

• Betable.fun operators do not claim specific country licenses in these Terms and do not represent that the Service is authorized everywhere. Access may be geo-restricted, rate-limited, or refused where the operators reasonably believe use would violate law or these Terms.

• You must not use the Service if you are on a sanctions list or acting for a sanctioned person or jurisdiction where such use is forbidden.

• Circumventing geographic, age, or compliance controls (including via VPNs or false information) is prohibited and may result in suspension.

4. Internet Identity & Account Security

§

Authentication uses Internet Identity (II) with passkeys / device authenticators. Betable does not hold your II recovery phrases, seed phrases, passwords, or passkey private keys, and cannot "reset" a lost identity the way a traditional password account can.

• You control which devices and authenticators are registered to your Internet Identity. You are responsible for adding backup passkeys, securing optional II recovery material offline, and configuring email recovery only on identity.ic0.app when you choose to use it.

• All activity under your connected principal — including trading, market creation, category claims, approvals, and API/trading keys — is your responsibility. Wallet balances shown are for that connected Internet Identity only.

• Use the same Internet Identity on every device (id.ai / iCloud Keychain). Do not create a second II expecting Betable to merge wallets. You must not share recovery material or allow others to control devices registered to your identity.

• Notify support@betable.fun promptly if you suspect unauthorized access. Betable cannot reverse irreversible on-chain transfers solely because credentials were compromised.

• Phishing of fake betable.fun, id.ai, or identity.ic0.app sites is a known risk. Bookmark official URLs and verify canister IDs via the Status page where available.

• More operational guidance appears at /security; security tips do not limit the disclaimers in these Terms.

5. Category XFTs, Ownership, Custody, Renewal, Expiry & Reclaim

§

CRITICAL: On Betable, category rights are bound to XFTs / labels on Afta Cash (and related ICP label infrastructure). Category control follows the live on-chain XFT ownership and validity rules — not Betable’s goodwill, support tickets, or off-chain profile claims.

• Claiming or controlling a category generally requires proving ownership (or authorized operator/license rights) of the corresponding Afta / XFT label. Betable may sync category metadata (including owner principal and xft_id) from chain when transfers or reclaim events occur.

• You are solely responsible for safeguarding category XFTs: custody of the controlling principal, device recovery, approvals, operator grants, transfers, and renewals before labelExpire / registration expiry.

• Labels and related licenses may expire under Afta / XFT protocol settings (for example labelExpire, licenseExpire, registration years). You must renew in time on the relevant Afta / XFT interfaces. Betable is not obligated to remind you, auto-renew for you, or restore an expired label.

• If an XFT / label expires, is burned, or is reclaimed / re-minted under a new id by another party under protocol rules, category rights follow the live XFT. Loss of category control, fee streams, branding, or related privileges in that event is not Betable’s responsibility and is an accepted protocol risk.

• Expired XFTs that others reclaim are expected protocol behavior in this design. Betable will not reassign category ownership out of equity, courtesy, or prior relationship once on-chain rights have moved.

• Transfers, marketplace sales, operator licenses, and bag-linked custody may permanently change who can create markets, set fees, or administer a category. Verify counterparties and canister IDs before signing.

• Betable UI mirrors (lists of "your categories," stats pages, badges) can lag or differ from chain. On-chain Afta / XFT state controls.

• See also /security#xft for custody tips. Tips are educational and do not create warranties or custody duties for Betable.

6. Bags, Vaults, DAB Tokens & Operators

§

Some XFTs attach bags / vault canisters (smart wallets), DAB or other fund tokens, operator licenses, marketplace licenses, or similar extensions. These are third-party or protocol features you elect to use at your own risk.

• Funds locked in bags, unlock dates, wrap/link settings, and license expiry are governed by the relevant canisters — not by informal Betable promises.

• Granting operator rights, API/trading keys, or licenses can allow others to act with respect to labels, markets, or balances. You remain responsible for those grants and for revoking them.

• Bag principals may trade or settle differently from your II principal. Understand which principal holds balances before depositing or withdrawing.

• Smart-contract bugs, misconfiguration, malicious operators, or failed upgrades affecting bags/vaults/DAB assets are risks you accept when using those features.

• Betable is not the custodian of bag contents and does not guarantee recovery of tokens stuck due to lock dates, wrong principals, or third-party canister failure.

7. Markets: Creation, Trading, Resolution & Disputes

§

Users create markets subject to category rules, on-chain checks, fees, and platform policies. Market creators and category owners may influence criteria, fee splits, and administrative options within protocol limits.

• You must set clear, objective resolution criteria where the product requires them. Ambiguous, illegal, or manipulative markets may be rejected, cancelled, or left unresolved under applicable rules.

• Trading is peer-to-peer. You take market, counterparty, liquidity, and timing risk. Betable does not guarantee fills, best price, or profitable outcomes.

• Open or partially filled orders may be cancellable under product rules; filled shares generally cannot be unilaterally undone. Always confirm size, side, and price before signing.

• Cancellation of markets, refunds, or voiding is limited to circumstances allowed by canister logic and policies (for example certain pre-trade or admin/oracle paths). There is no general "cool-off" right after a filled trade.

• Resolution may use creator/admin action, community oracles, partner resolvers, automated feeds (including peri / short-interval crypto-style markets), or other published mechanisms. Oracle error, delayed data, disputed outcomes, and admin discretion (where reserved) are risks you accept.

• Draws, split winners, multi-outcome, and peri one-sided reclaim mechanics may return stake or split payouts according to market type — read market rules before trading.

• Dispute windows, if any, are defined by the product/canister. Failure to dispute in time may make a resolution final for Service purposes even if you later disagree off-platform.

• Betable.fun operators may pause markets, restrict creation, or intervene when required for security, legality, or integrity — without owing you profits you hoped to earn.

8. Funds, ICP, Deposits, Withdrawals, Fees & Failed Transactions

§

Live settlement and trading balances use native ICP and related ICRC ledger flows. You bear ICP price volatility and network fee / cycles costs.

• Deposits and withdrawals depend on ledger finality, correct principals/subaccounts, allowances (for example ICRC-2), and canister availability. Failed, stuck, or user-misdirected transfers may be irreversible.

• Internal venue balances are distinct from your external ledger wallet. Claim winnings/refunds and withdraw if you want ICP off Betable.

• The platform may charge protocol or interface fees. Category owners / creators may charge or split creator fees (including XFT bag splits). Fee schedules can change; on-screen or on-chain parameters control at the time of the action.

• You are responsible for taxes on trading, fees earned, or category revenue in your jurisdiction.

• Cycles, replica outages, subnet issues, or upgrade windows can delay settlement. Betable does not guarantee continuous uptime or instant withdrawals.

• Do not send unsupported tokens or use wrong memo/subaccount formats. Recovery, if possible at all, may be unpaid and unguaranteed.

9. Articles, UGC & Intellectual Property

§

You may post articles, comments, market text, images, or other user-generated content ("UGC") where the Service allows.

• You retain ownership of your UGC, but grant Betable.fun operators a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, display, reproduce, distribute, and create derivative works of that UGC as needed to operate, promote, and improve the Service (including mirrors and embeds).

• You represent you have rights to the UGC you submit and that it does not infringe others’ IP, privacy, or publicity rights.

• No illegal content: do not post CSAM, terrorist content, malware, doxxing, or content that violates applicable law. Operators may remove UGC and suspend accounts.

• Betable branding, UI, code, docs, and original non-UGC content remain the property of their respective owners. You may not scrape, clone, or commercially exploit the Service except as allowed by published APIs and these Terms.

• Feedback you submit may be used without obligation to compensate you.

10. Prohibited Activities

§

• Market manipulation, wash trading, spoofing, or collusive schemes intended to mislead others or distort prices.

• Trading on material non-public information where doing so violates law, or creating markets primarily to facilitate crime.

• Underage use; assisting minors to access the Service.

• Sanctions evasion; use from or for prohibited parties/jurisdictions.

• Hacking, malware, denial-of-service, exploiting canister bugs without responsible disclosure, or attempting to drain funds you do not own.

• Abusive scraping, spamming APIs, or overloading infrastructure beyond published fair-use limits.

• Impersonation, phishing, fake II portals, or social-engineering users for recovery phrases or approvals.

• Circumventing fees, suspensions, or geo/age controls; sybil abuse of promotions.

• Illegal content, IP theft, or using categories/markets to host prohibited material.

• Any activity that materially harms the integrity, security, or lawful operation of Betable, Afta, ICP, or other users.

11. Risk Disclosures

§

Prediction markets involve a substantial risk of loss. You can lose some or all funds used to trade, deposit, or pay fees. Only use value you can afford to lose.

• ICP and other tokens are volatile. Fiat-equivalent values can swing quickly.

• Smart contract / canister bugs, upgrade mistakes, governance actions, or Internet Computer network outages can freeze, delay, or permanently affect balances and markets.

• Oracle, feed, admin, or resolver error can produce outcomes you consider wrong; dispute rights are limited to product rules.

• Front-running, MEV-like behavior, latency advantages, and thin liquidity can worsen your fills.

• Counterparty and market-creator risk: others may set poor criteria, become unavailable, or act adversarially within or outside the rules.

• Dependency on Afta Cash / XFT infrastructure: label expiry, reclaim, bag failure, or Afta downtime can remove category rights or related revenue — see Section 5.

• Third-party services (II, ledgers, price APIs, analytics, hosting) can fail or change terms.

• Regulatory change can restrict or outlaw your continued use without prior notice that restores losses.

• Interface bugs or mirror desync (Supabase vs chain) can display stale data — verify critical actions against chain where possible.

12. No Warranties / AS IS

§

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY — INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, ACCURACY, OR UNINTERRUPTED ACCESS — TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.

• Betable.fun operators do not warrant that markets will resolve as you expect, that category ownership will remain yours if you fail to renew XFTs, that oracles are correct, or that canisters are bug-free.

• No advice on the Service constitutes a recommendation to trade.

• Some jurisdictions disallow certain disclaimers; in those places, warranties are disclaimed to the fullest extent still allowed.

13. Limitation of Liability

§

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, BETABLE.FUN OPERATORS AND THEIR CONTRIBUTORS, CONTRACTORS, AND AFFILIATES SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES; LOST PROFITS; LOST DATA; LOSS OF CATEGORY/XFT RIGHTS; OR BUSINESS INTERRUPTION — WHETHER BASED IN CONTRACT, TORT, STRICT LIABILITY, OR OTHERWISE — EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY.

• Without limiting the above, operators are not liable for losses from: ICP volatility; user key/custody mistakes; expired or reclaimed XFTs; oracle or resolution disputes; third-party Afta/ICP/II failures; hacks of your devices; or prohibited use by others.

• TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, AGGREGATE LIABILITY ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE FEES YOU PAID TO BETABLE.FUN OPERATORS FOR THE SERVICE IN THE THREE (3) MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM OR (B) ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS (US$100) OR LOCAL EQUIVALENT.

• Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law (for example certain intentional misconduct where mandatory).

14. Indemnification

§

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Betable.fun operators and their contributors, contractors, and affiliates from and against claims, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or related to: (a) your use of the Service; (b) your markets, categories, UGC, or fee settings; (c) your violation of these Terms or law; (d) your infringement of others’ rights; (e) disputes with counterparties or over XFT custody/reclaim; or (f) taxes and regulatory filings owed by you.

15. Suspension & Termination

§

• Operators may suspend, restrict, or terminate access to interfaces, APIs, or certain canister privileges at any time for suspected Terms violations, legal risk, security incidents, or abuse — with or without prior notice when circumstances reasonably require speed.

• You may stop using the Service at any time. On-chain balances and XFTs remain subject to ledger and Afta rules; stopping UI use does not by itself withdraw ICP or renew labels.

• Sections that by nature should survive (including risk disclosures, IP licenses already granted, disclaimers, liability limits, indemnity, and governing-law terms) survive termination.

• Suspension does not obligate operators to refund trading losses, unrealized positions, or expired category rights.

16. Third-Party Services

§

The Service interoperates with third parties that Betable does not control, including without limitation: Internet Identity / DFINITY infrastructure; the Internet Computer network and ledgers; Afta Cash XFTs, bags, markets, and operators; price or data providers (for example CoinGecko or similar); analytics/hosting; oracle/partner resolvers; and optional off-chain mirrors such as Supabase.

• Your use of third-party services is subject to their terms and privacy policies. Betable is not responsible for their acts, omissions, outages, or policy changes.

• Links to third-party sites are for convenience only.

17. Privacy

§

Our collection and use of information is described in the Privacy Policy at /privacy. By using the Service you also acknowledge that much activity on ICP and public canisters is inherently public and permanent.

18. Governing Law & Disputes

§

To the maximum extent permitted by law, these Terms and any dispute arising out of or relating to them or the Service are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the Betable.fun operators are organized, without regard to conflict-of-law rules that would require another forum’s law.

• Before filing a formal claim, you agree to contact support@betable.fun and attempt good-faith informal resolution for at least thirty (30) days.

• Where permitted, disputes may be resolved by binding individual arbitration or in courts competent over the operators; you waive class, collective, or representative actions to the extent such waiver is enforceable.

• If arbitration or venue language is unenforceable for you, the remainder of these Terms still applies, and disputes will be heard in a forum of competent jurisdiction consistent with mandatory consumer protections that cannot be waived.

• Nothing invents a specific corporate registration, EIN, or licensed entity status beyond referring to "Betable.fun operators" reachable at the contact channels below.

19. Contact & Miscellaneous

§

• Contact: support@betable.fun for Terms and product support; privacy@betable.fun for privacy requests. Related pages: /agreement, /privacy, /security, /support.

• Severability: if a provision is unenforceable, it will be modified to the minimum extent necessary, and the rest remains in effect.

• Entire agreement: these Terms (plus Privacy Policy and in-product rules expressly incorporated) are the entire agreement regarding the Service and supersede prior conflicting understandings on the same subject.

• No waiver: failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of future enforcement.

• Assignment: you may not assign these Terms without consent; operators may assign to a successor operating the Service.

• Force majeure: operators are not liable for delays or failures caused by events beyond reasonable control, including network partitions, protocol halts, or legal compulsion.

• Language: English controls if translations conflict.

• Relationship: no partnership, employment, or joint venture is created by these Terms.
